"Ken’s work feels like something from a music video, or a Derek Jarmen film, a figure on a beach comes to mind. The suit and lack of collar on the shirt ebbs a 90s aesthetic which still feels fresh and relevant today. His and Alice’s collaborative performance exploring the potential of this pretty ordinary plastic sheet is fascinating. Who would think that it would be so romantic, so captivating. There’s also a feeling of loss and mourning in this piece, but loss empowered through Nakajima’s stance. His body contorting and moving, his ability to understand and bond with his body reminiscent for me of how Casper jolts and breaks through his practice. The two are friends. Here though the work is also on show during the exhibition as a separate blowing jelly fish like object titled ‘Peaceful Observations’ - plastic as a chaotic harbinger of climate doom floating dramatically and nonchalantly, it’s a vision to see and definitely a sight performing for the viewer bringing people in off the street to ogle, stare and be bemused by something so simplistic. It’s one of 23 works on display that have garnered such great feedback and fascination from those drifting through the show".
